TABULA RASA består av Sigrun Jørdre, Rikke Lina Sorell Matthiesen, Zsuzsa Zseni, Tord Kalvenes, Arild Rohde og Jakub Niedziela.
The vocal ensemble was established in 2017 by Tord Kalvenes, and Arild Rohde has since May 2019 been the musical leader. The ensemble aims to promote early music and new classical vocal music, with a focus on Norwegian composers.
The vocal ensemble stands out by working with improvisation and theatrical elements to create conceptual concerts and performances. TABULA RASA wants to reach out with new music to those who are not familiar with this expression already. Musically, they seek a balance between music that is recognizable and accessible to the audience, and music that is challenging and surprising. They want to use the emotional and direct communicative in the human voice to reach the audience.

We strive interdisciplinary collaboration with artists from various fields, and are constantly looking for new angles in our projects.
Our artistic collaboration includes Else Olsen S., Borealis festival, Bergen Kirkeautunnale, Else Olsen S., Halldis Rønning, Ingrid Askvik, Matias Askvik, Silje Sandodden Kise, Marcus Davidson, Jostein Avdem Fretland, Jostein Stalheim, Knut Vaage, Peter Child, Linda Øgaard and Juan Vassallo.
